(or Trap-Neuter-Release programme): Capture-and-release-neutering programmes are used to control and reduce the feral cat populations as an alternative to capture and euthanasia (often referred to as “trap and kill”). The cat is captured and tested for lethal diseases. If it tests positive, it is euthanased. If it tests negative, it is spayed or neutered and returned to the area in which it was found.
